HPC International, Inc. (HPC) was founded in 1996 as Hilton Publishing Company by Hilton Hudson II, MD and Dr. Herbert Stern. Motivated by their mission to educate, inspire and foster medical pride in communities that had long been overlooked, Dr. Hudson and Dr. Stern sought to empower patients with trusted, meaningful education they could rely on to stay healthy and live a long, happy life. In the company’s first several years, it published books on many important topics including sickle cell disease, heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, AIDS and lupus, selling this as patient education to hospitals, health systems, physician practices and pharmaceutical companies across the United States.
In time HPC began to uncover other areas of need in the healthcare industry beyond the culturally-focused patient education it was publishing. HPC launched several new services to fulfill those needs: helping organizations reduce the cost of professional and patient education through a new one-stop-shop customer experience, simplifying caregiver access to continuing education and reducing costs through a new centralized program approach, offering a new virtual management model for medical libraries to expand access to librarian support while reducing costs, and performing on-demand evidence-based research to support improved healthcare practices and supply chain purchasing decisions.
Today HPC is known as the supplier that companies and healthcare organizations continue to turn to for innovative solutions that reduce operational spending and improve corporate purchasing efficiency in the area of education.
