The Sub-Specialty Care of HIV-Infected Patients is a synthesis of current policies, practices, and recommendations regarding the management of patients with HIV infection, authored by academicians at two major medical institutions, the Baylor College of Medicine and the McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas at Houston. The chapters represent the traditional sub-specialties of internal medicine, as well as dermatology, neurology and psychiatry. Almost all of the authors have worked at the Thomas Street Health Center in Houston, a multidisciplinary free-standing clinic dedicated to the care of patients with HIV infection, which is one of the largest of its kind in the nation and the dedicatee of this book.
